If Your Wallet is Stolen

Try this.  Place the contents of your wallet on a copy machine.  Copy both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your  wallet and all the account numbers and phone numbers in case your wallet is stolen.  Keep the copy in a safe place so that only you may find it.

If your wallet is stolen , cancel  your credit cards immediately.  The key is having the toll‑free  numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call (your photocopy).  File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where it was stolen, proving to credit providers you were diligent.

Call each of the three national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and SS#.  The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was  stolen and must call you to authorize credit.  Hopefully, you will stop the thieves in their tracks.
