The brand new 2013 Honda Accord sedan has been awarded a top overall five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Redesigned for the 2013 model year, the ninth generation Accord earned a five-star rating in three of four NHTSA crash tests.
NHTSA test categories include: overall vehicle safety, frontal crashes, side crashes and rollover tests. The only test in which the Accord did not get a five-star rating was the frontal-crash testing. It earned a four in that particular test.
These test results are specific to the 2013 Accord sedan. The 2013 Accord coupe, which has a slightly different body structure, has not yet been tested.
