About 35,300 Pounds of Imported Lamb Recalled for Lacking Inspection

About 35,300 pounds of lamb products have been recalled for entering the country without inspection.

The Australian products were shipped to AMD Imports, a distributor in Houston, Texas, which did not present the shipment to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) for inspection.

The products were sent to other distributors and retail locations, but no adverse health problems have been reported. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website.

The recalled products include two lots of bone-in lamb shoulder packaged between Sept. 8 and Oct. 10.

Consumers with questions about the recall should contact Dan Martinez at (713) 928-3111.
