Aftermarket Headlights for Acura ILX Recalled for Fire Risk, Low Light

An aftermarket auto parts company is recalling certain replacement headlight assemblies because they could catch fire.

Genera Corporation is recalling certain assemblies made for model year 2013-2014 Acura ILX vehicles because excessive heat around the bulb and reflector unit might cause smoke, melting and fire. The heat could also dim the lights making it harder for the driver to see.

About 220 assemblies are affected by the recall.

Genera will notify distributors and distributors will attempt to identify owners that purchased the affected headlamp assemblies. Owners will be reimbursed upon return of the defective assembly. Owners with questions about the recall can contact Genera customer service at 1-888-963-9888.
