Allergy Alert: Cheesecake Bars Sold at Whole Foods Market Stores May Contain Undeclared Nuts
People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds should not consume these products
Whole Foods Market has issued a recall for cheesecake bars that may contain a tree nut allergen (almond flour) that is not listed on the ingredient label.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled cheesecake bars.
Recalled Product Details
The affected cheesecake bars were sold in clear plastic packages and can be identified by the PLU number 240801. The products were sold between May 2017 and January 12, 2018. The issue was discovered by Whole Foods Market after the incorrect product was shipped by the supplier to the distributor.
The recalled cheesecake bars were sold at the following Whole Foods stores:
- 55 Welles St, Glastonbury, CT
- 40 Railroad St, Andover, MA
- 808 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA
- 200 Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge, MA
- 340 River St, Cambridge, MA
- 327 Russell St, Hadley, MA
- 990 Iyannough Rd, Hyannis, MA
- 536 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury, MA
- 151 Sockanosset Cross Rd, Cranston, RI
All affected product has been removed from store shelves. No allergic reactions related to this recall have been reported, to date.
What should consumers do?
Consumers who have purchased the impacted cheesecake bars should return them to the store for a full refund.
