BMW of North America says that approximately 6,600 model year 2010-2011 BMW 335d vehicles with diesel engines could unexpectedly stall due to power loss. As a result, these vehicles have been recalled.

What's the problem?

According to BMW, the connection of the positive battery cable at the fuse box terminal on these vehicles may degrade over time, possibly resulting in an intermittent loss of electrical power. This condition could cause the vehicle to stall while being driven, increasing the risk of a crash.

What happens next?

BMW will notify owners of the affected BMW 335d vehicles in July 2018. Local dealers will then replace the positive battery cable connector and secure it with an improved method. This repair will be completed free of charge to vehicle owners.
