BMW of North America is recalling approximately 850 model year 2018 BMW M5 vehicles.

What's the problem?

In certain driving conditions, the engine control unit software on the affected vehicles may cause the fuel pump to stop.

If the fuel pump stops, the vehicle will stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

What happens next?

BMW will notify owners of the recalled M5 vehicles beginning in early July 2018. Local BMW dealers will then update the engine control unit software. This update will be completed free of charge.

Vehicle owners with questions about the recall can reach BMW customer service by calling (800) 525-7417.
