Concerns over braking capability has led to a recall from one motorcycle manufacturer.

BMW of North America has announced its decision to recall certain 2013-2015 BMW C 600 Sport and C 650 GT motorcycles. In the affected vehicles, the front brake hose may develop a leak as a result of the driver repeatedly turning the handlebars all the way to the left. This can be necessary when locking the handlebars or during tight maneuvers.

A leaking brake hose can result in reduced braking capability, increasing the risk of a crash.

BMW believes that about 2,000 motorcycles are impacted by this defect, but has received no reports of accident or injury in connection.

The company will replace the brake hose with a brake hose of improved design, free of charge. Dealers were notified of this recall on November 5, 2015 and BMW will notify owners on December 28, 2015.

Owners with questions about the recall can contact BMW of North America at (800) 367-6372.
