General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2017 Cadillac XT5 and GMC Acadia vehicles.

The front brake calipers on the recalled vehicles may have a torn or misaligned caliper piston seal which may allow brake fluid to leak.

If there is a brake fluid leak, braking performance may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.

An estimated 1,844 Cadillac XT5 and GMC Acadia vehicles are included in this recall.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front brake calipers on the affected vehicles, replacing the brake caliper assemblies, as necessary. Repairs related to this recall will be completed free of charge to vehicle owners.

The manufacturer has not yet provided a specific owner notification schedule for this recall.
