General Motors is recalling certain model year 2011 – 2013 Buick Regal vehicles, as well as certain 2013 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles due to a problem with the front turn signals.

Both model cars are equipped with two bulbs in each turn signal. If one of the two bulbs burn out, no warning is given to the driver. If the driver is unaware that one of the bulbs is out, he or she may continue driving, posing an accident hazard to other drivers who may not see the remaining signal.

As such, the cars fail to comply with federal vehicle safety standards.

More than 120,400 cars are affected by the recall.

GM will notify owners and dealers will update the body control module software, free of charge. Owners with questions or concerns can contact Buick at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 12212.
