Compromised steering has led to a vehicle recall from General Motors.

The auto manufacturer is voluntarily recalling certain model year 2016 Buick Regal vehicles. The affected vehicles have a power-steering assist system that may fail.

Vehicles that have lost power steering assist are at a greater risk of a crash.

GM believes that about 75 vehicles are impacted by this recall. Effective immediately, GM will stop the delivery of affected vehicles in new or used vehicle inventory.

The company will notify owners, and dealers will replace the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact Buick customer service at (800) 521-7300.
