Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala Recalled Because Airbags May Not Deploy

The airbags may not deploy in a limited number of Cadillac XTS and Chevrolet Impala vehicles.

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013 – 2014 Cadillac XTS and 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles because they may have left the factory with the sensing and diagnostic module set to manufacturing mode. The airbags won't deploy when the car is set in this mode.

GM estimates that only five cars are affected by this recall.

GM will notify owners of the problem and dealers will reprogram the car to the correct mode, free of charge.
