Although it may seem like an obvious risk, a brand of candles sold exclusively at Hobby Lobby has been recalled because it poses a fire hazard.

CoScentrix issued the recall after receiving two reports that wax surface of its DD brand tin candles caught fire. The company also received one report of minor property damage.

The polymer coating on the tin container can also ignite.

The candles were sold exclusively at Hobby Lobby stores nationwide and online at HobbyLobby.com from June 2014 through July 2014 for about $6.

About 126,000 candles are affected by the recall and involves 4-ounce DD branded candles sold in a round metal tin with a metal lid. The single wick candles are 2.75 inches wide by 2 inches high and were sold in 35 fragrances and colors of wax. A 'DD' logo is embossed atop the metal lid. The candle fragrance is printed on a label affixed to the outside of the tin. A label on the underside of the tin is marked with the price and has the SKU and batch number.

Customers who purchased the candles in-store, can return them to the nearest Hobby Lobby for a full refund. Store credit will be given for returns without a receipt. Online purchasers should contact the manufacturer, CoScentrix, for return instructions.
