Cement Dining Room Table Recalled by Jofran Due to Fracture Risk
Jofran Sales, Inc. is issuing a recall for a line of tables that presents a danger to consumers.
The furniture manufacturer is recalling its Boulder Ridge Dining Room Table due to reports that a stress fracture can form, posing an injury hazard to those nearby. About 300 tables are included in the recall.
The Boulder Ridge Dining Room Table has a rectangular, cement top measuring 78 inches with a wooden base. The serial numbers on the recalled tables, found on the underside of the cement top, begin with V12760A, V12760B, V12860A, or V13034.
Consumers could purchase these tables at Jordan's Furniture, Kittles Home Furnishings, Nebraska Furniture Mart, W.E. Smithe Furniture and other retailers nationwide from May 2015 through October 2015 for about $1100.
Jofran Sales has received reports of 71 incidents of cement top stress fractures or cement tops breaking. No injuries have been reported.
The company urges consumers to immediately stop using the tables and contact the Jofran dealer where the table was purchased to schedule a free repair.
