Owners of certain Chevy compact cars may be navigating the roads without the benefit of safe seatbelts.

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles. In the affected vehicles, one of the driver-side seatbelt assembly bolts may not be properly tightened.

An insufficiently torqued bolt may prevent the seatbelt from holding the required load in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

GM believes that about 15 Cruze vehicles are impacted by this defect.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the bolts, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
