Choking Hazard Leads to Pacifier, Clip Recall from Munchkin

About 180,000 pacifiers and clips pose a potential hazard to infants

Munchkin Inc. has announced a recall for an infant item due to concerns over safety.

The company is recalling its Latch lightweight pacifiers and clips. The clip cover can detach from the pacifier's clip, posing a choking hazard for young children. About 180,000 pacifiers are included in this recall.

Munchkin has received 10 reports of the clip cover detaching from the pacifier clip. No injuries have been reported.

The pacificers came in five styles for newborns through infants six months and older. For photos of the recalled pacificers and straps, visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.

The recalled pacificers were sold online and at most major retailers, boutiques, and discount stores nationwide from March 2014 through March 2016 for between $11 and $15.

Consumers should immediately take the clip away from young children and contact Munchkin for a free replacement Lightweight Pacifier pack with two pacifiers or a full refund.
