Chrysler is recalling approximately 25,590 model year 2014 Fiat 500L vehicles.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software calibration on the affected vehicles may be incorrect, limiting the engine to idle speed and torque even when accelerator pedal is fully pressed.

If the vehicle does not accelerate as expected, there may be an increased risk of a crash.

Owners of the recalled Fiat 500L vehicles will be notified by Chrysler beginning on May 5, 2017. Local Fiat dealers will then update the PCM software on the affected vehicles free of charge.

Owners with questions about the recall can contact the Fiat Information Center at by calling (888) 242-6342. Chrysler's reference number for this recall is T19.
