Chrysler Issues Recall for Nearly 48,000 Pacifica Minivans with Seat Belt Defect
A second-row Seat belt could inadvertently unlatch, leaving that passenger at a greater risk of injury
Nearly 48,000 model year 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivans equipped with the 8-passenger seating option are being recalled by the manufacturer.
What's the problem?
In certain passenger seating and vehicle situations, the second-row center seating position seat belt buckle on the affected vehicles could cause the second-row left outboard seat belt to become unlatched.
If the left outboard seat belt inadvertently unlatches, that passenger would be at a greater risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners of the recalled Pacifica vehicles beginning in mid-October 2017. Dealers will then install a shorter second-row seat belt buckle, free of charge.
