Customers Continue to Report Money Drained from Walmart MoneyCard
A consumer news organization is reporting that customers are still seeing their finances drained from reloadable debit cards issued by Walmart.
Consumer Affairs reports that owners of the Walmart MoneyCard are seeing their balances drained by supposed hackers who are spending the cash at Target retail stores in and around Manhattan.
Victims live all over the country, but the cards seem to be used consistently in and around New York City, including its boroughs and in the Long Island and Westchester County suburbs.
Complaints about the hack began in September 2013, but little attention has been given to the issue.
According to the cardholder agreement, Walmart will refund the stolen money so long as victims contact the company immediately after the fraudulent payments have been discovered.
