An issue affecting brakes is prompting a recall for Honda scooters.

The automaker is recalling certain model year 2014 Forza NSS300 and NSS300A scooters. The rear brake line connection on the affected vehicles may have been improperly tightened, allowing brake fluid to leak.

If the rear brake line leaks, there could be a reduction in brake pressure. This condition could reduce rear braking function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Honda believes that about 2,000 scooters are impacted by this issue.

The manufacturer will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the rear brake line connection to specification, and fill the rear brake fluid reservoir, as necessary, free of charge. Honda has not yet provided a notification schedule.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact Honda customer service at (800) 999-1009.
