Chrysler is recalling approximately 53,155 model year 2016 Dodge Dart vehicles.

Due to voltage spikes caused by a problem within the windshield washer pump, the windshield wiper circuit on the affected vehicles may fail. Without functioning windshield wipers, the driver's visibility may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Dodge Dart vehicles impacted by this recall were manufactured between April 13, 2015 and June 7, 2016.

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the windshield washer pumps on the recalled vehicles, free of charge.

This recall is expected to begin on December 19, 2016. For further information, contact Chrysler customer service toll-free at (800) 853-1403.
