Ducati North America is recalling roughly 2,083 model year 2012-2013 1199 Panigale and Panigale S motorcycles.

The left handlebar switch on the affected motorcycles may not get power from its connection at the dashboard, preventing the horn, instrument panel display, high beam and right turn signals from functioning. As such, these motorcycles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 123, 'Motorcycle Controls and Displays.'

The rider's inability to use the horn, right turn indicators and high beam could increase the risk of a crash.

Owners of the recalled Panigale and Panigale S motorcycles will be notified by Ducati, and local dealers will install an additional wiring harness. This service will be provided free of charge.
