Customatic Beds has issued a recall of roughly 50,000 adjustable beds due to an electric shock hazard.

The AC outlets on the bed may not be wired correctly, posing a shock hazard to consumers.

The affected products include the bases of adjustable beds. The power bases were offered for all bed sizes and included handheld remote controls that moved the head and/or the foot of the mattress up and down.

The bases also include an AC outlet mounted on the side, which poses the shock hazard.

The recalled items were sold at Sleepy's and other mattress retailers across the U.S. from June 2012 until January 2017 for approximately $1,500. For a full list of the affected models, see the official Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) release.

Although there have not been any injuries or incidents reported in connection with this recall, consumers are urged to stop using the AC outlet on the side of the bed immediately and to contact the company to schedule a free inspection and repair.
