Failed Flammability Standards Prompt Scarf Recall from SouvNear

The recall applies to 51 different styles, all made from 100 percent silk

April 21, 2016

Scarves from SouvNear are now subject to a recall due to safety concerns.

The apparel company is recalling 51 different styles of women's 100 percent silk scarves. The scarves do not meet the federal flammability standard for clothing textiles, posing a burn risk. About 650 scarves are included in the recall.

The scarves are 72 inches long by 31 inches wide. 100% Pure Silk and Made in India are printed on the sewn-in tags. The scarves come in standard and infinity styles and come in various colors and patterns, including floral, leopard and paisley.

Consumers could purchase these scarves at Averroes International stores and online from October 2014 through March 2016 for between $8 and $40.

No injuries have been reported in connection with these items.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled scarves and return them to SouvNear for a full refund. Consumers who purchased the scarves online will be contacted directly.

Customers with questions about this recall can contact SouvNear by phone at (844) 328-5735 or by email at
