A home furnishings dealer has announced a recall for potentially defective chairs.

Pier 1 Imports is recalling its Capella Island Swivel Dining Chairs. The chairs are prone to breaking at the base, posing a fall hazard to the user. The manufacturer is including about 800 chairs in the announcement.

The company has received three reports of the chairs breaking, including two reports of customers falling. No injuries have been reported.

The plastic wicker chairs involved in the recall have a natural wood color. The chair measures about 26 inches wide by 26 inches deep and 39 inches high.

The chairs were sold exclusively at Pier 1 stores and online from January 2015 through October 2015 for between $240 and $500.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chairs and return them to any Pier 1 Imports store for a full refund or a merchandise credit.

Customers with questions about this recall can contact Pier 1 Imports at (800) 245-4595.
