Faulty Airbag Leads to Recall of Chevrolet, GMC Vehicles
General Motors (GM) has announced a recall for several vehicles due to the presence of defective airbags.
The automaker is recalling certain model year 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, Chevrolet Malibu, and GMC Canyon vehicles. The front driver-side airbag may improperly inflate during second-stage deployment in the event of a high speed crash.
And improperly inflated airbag increases the risk of injury to the driver.
GM is including about 1,600 vehicles in its recall.
The manufacturer will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver side frontal air bag module, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
