Ferrara Fire Apparatus has issued a recall affecting certain model year 2000-2016 Fire Apparatus 100' Rear Mount Platform emergency vehicles.

The affected vehicles are equipped with a movable ladder access guardrail that may bend or break under heavy loads—posing an injury risk to users.

Ferrara says that approximately 60 Fire Apparatus 100' Rear Mount Platform emergency vehicles are impacted by this recall.

The company will notify owners of the recalled vehicles beginning in June. Service personnel or service centers will then install a brace for the mansaver guardrail bar to support the required loads. These repairs will be completed at no cost to vehicle owners.
