The hits keep on coming for Fiat Chrysler.

Chrysler is issuing a recall for certain model year 2011-2015 Dodge Journey vehicles, specifically those with 2.4L engines. In the affected vehicles, the engine cover may detach from the engine, resulting in an increased risk of a vehicle fire. The company is recalling almost 150,000 vehicles.

Chrysler was first made aware of the issue in February, after three reports of compartment fires from Chile. Following additional reports of similar problems in Mexico and testing conducted in the United States, Chrysler deemed a recall necessary. Chrysler is aware of no incidents or accidents stemming from this issue in the United States.

Chrysler is expected to begin notifying owners of the recall on Aug. 26, 2015. Dealers will be responsible for installing an improved mounting system for the engine cover, free of charge. Customers with questions should contact Chrysler at (888) 327-4236.
