Fiat Chrysler Recalls Two Models of Ram Trucks Due to Suspension Defect
Fiat Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2015 Ram 4500 and 5500 pickup trucks.
The affected vehicles may have inadequate penetration of the front upper control arm loop to spacer weld, reducing the front suspension stability.
A reduction of suspension stability control could affect control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The affected vehicles were manufactured between Jan. 30, 2015, and Feb. 6, 2015. Almost 200 vehicles are involved in the recall. This represents about three percent of the trucks on the market.
Chrysler will notify owners of the affected vehicles, and local dealers will inspect and replace any upper control arms, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on September 19, 2015.
Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at (800) 853-1403 for further information on the recall.
