Varaluz LLC has announced a recall for light fixtures that pose a fire hazard.

The announcement applies to all Longfellow model 3- and 4-light fixtures for indoor or outdoor use. Improper wiring can allow melting of the insulation and cause the fixtures to short out, posing fire and shock hazards. About 80 light fixtures are included in the recall.

The black metal fixtures have a clear/frosted glass shade on four sides and can be wall mounted or ceiling mounted. Model number 731KL04EB, 731KM03EB, 731P03EB, 331P03BL, 731P03EB, or 331P04BL is printed on the label on the canopy of the ceiling mounted fixtures or the backplate of wall mounted fixtures.

The firm has received two reports of lights bulbs shorting. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers could purchase these fixtures at showrooms nationwide and online through lighting and home improvement websites from April 2013 to September 2015 for between $320 and $420.

Consumers should immediately discontinue use of the fixtures and contact Varaluz for a replacement or a refund.

Customers with questions about the recall can contact Varaluz at (702) 792-6900.
