Ford Motor Company is recalling certain model year 2018 Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC vehicles.

What's the problem?

The affected Escape and MKC vehicles may be equipped with incorrect front brake hoses that could chafe against other components, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.

A brake fluid leak may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

What happens next?

Owners of the recalled Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC vehicles will be notified by Ford beginning in early March 2018. Dealers will then inspect the brake hoses, replacing any that are incorrect, free of charge.

Vehicle owners with additional questions about this recall can reach Ford customer service at (866) 436-7332—reference recall number 18S04.
