Incorrectly installed seatbelts have led to a recall from Forest River, Inc.

The recreational vehicle manufacturer is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Legacy motorhomes, models 340BH, 340KP, and 360RB. The affected vehicles are equipped with a seatbelts with shoulder straps that may rest below the shoulder of the seat occupant. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies", and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

If the shoulder belt rests too low on the torso, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Forest River is including 285 motorhomes in this recall.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install new seat belt systems, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 19, 2016.
