Tire problems have prompted Forest River to issue two separate recalls.

The first recall impacts certain model year 2017 Coachmen Freedom Express recreational vehicles.

The affected models of the Coachmen Freedom Express RVs are FET28SE, FET282BHDS, FET282BHDSLE, FET281RLDS, FET281RLDSLE, FET29SE, FET292BHDS and FET292BHDSLE. These vehicles were manufactured from May 16, 2016 to July 19, 2016.

The recalled RVs may have insufficient space between the slideroom driveshaft and the driver's side tires, causing the tires to rub. Tire rubbing may cause the tire to failure, possibly causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall of the affected RV is expected to begin on September 16, 2016. A remedy plan has not yet been determined.

For further information, owners may contact Forest River customer service at (574) 825-8205, reference number 220-07192016-0229.

The second recall concerns certain model year 2017 Rockwood and Flagstaff trailers.

The affected vehicles are equipped with a Federal Placard that incorrectly indicates that the ST225/75R15D tires have a recommended pressure of 50 PSI. These tires should be maintained at 65PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

If the tires are running at a low pressure, they may overheat and fail, possibly causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall for the trailers is expected to begin on September 16, 2015 and Forest River will begin to notify owners. Dealers will provide a corrected Federal Placard, free of charge.
