Forest River is recalling certain model year 2018 Salem and Wildwood recreational trailers.

What's the problem?

The Federal Placards on these vehicles may state an incorrect weight of the trailer. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal safety regulation number (CFR) 49, Part 567, "Certification."

An incorrect weight on the label may affect how the operator loads the vehicle—potentially impacting the handling of the trailer and increasing the risk of a crash.

What happens next?

Forest River will notify owners of the recalled Salem and Wildwood recreational trailers beginning in late September 2017. Dealers will then install a corrected Federal Placard with correct weight and cargo carrying capacity, free of charge.

For further recall information, contact Forest River customer service at (574) 534-4058—reference recall number 63-07312017-0485.
