Recreational vehicle owners who experienced their microwave starting on their own may be relieved to know that their appliance is not haunted.

Forest River is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Georgetown, Sunseeker, Forester, Cross Country, Pathfinder, Cardinal, Blue Ridge, Cedar Creek and Brookstone RVs that are equipped with a particular Frigidaire Convection Microwave because the appliance could start on its own and begin heating while unattended.

As a result, contents inside the appliance could burn or ignite.

More than 1,000 vehicles are affected by the recall.

Forest River will notify owners of the problem. Dealers will repair the membrane/keypad component, free of charge. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-353-7383.
