The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will join with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Alabama State Conference and local community partners for a forum on consumer fraud issues, which will take place on October 6, 2012 at the Birmingham City Hall.

Representatives from the FTC, NAACP, the Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice, the Alabama Attorney General's Office, the Securities and Exchange Commission, legal services agencies, and the Better Business Bureau will take part in the event.

This forum will provide local consumers the chance to ask questions about ongoing fraud issues and how to combat fraud. Consumers will also have the opportunity to share their stories of being affected by fraud, and hear from others about ideas on how to address the issues.
