Porsche is issuing a recall for SUVs because of a potential fuel leak.

The luxury automaker is voluntarily recalling about 22,000 2015-2016 Porsche Macan S and Macan Turbo vehicles. The potential problem stems from a fuel leak in the low-pressure fuel line inside the engine compartment.

"This is a purely precautionary measure, as there have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern," Porsche said in a statement.

Only gasoline engines are affected by this defect. The problem was identified after a precise examination of complaints and then immediately rectified in ongoing production.

Owners will be contacted directly by Porsche dealers. Workshop appointments will be arranged as quickly as possible. The work will take roughly one hour and will be carried out free of charge.

Owners with questions about the recall can contact Porsche customer service at (800) 767-7243.
