Schurman Retail Group is recalling approximately 8,400 VIVID Red Wine Crush Gift Boxes, in addition to two sold in Canada, due to a risk of mold exposure.

There may be mold present on the boxes. This poses a risk of respiratory or other infection for people who have a compromised immune system, damaged lungs, or a mold allergy.

The recalled products are decorative gift boxes made using metallic paper coverings. The boxes are red, packaged in a clear sealed bag made of cellophane, and include the phrase VIVID handmade printed on the bottom in gold-colored ink.

The boxes were sold at PAPYRUS, Paper Destiny, and Carlton Cards Stores in October 2016 for between $5 and $7.

To date, the company has received nine reports of respiratory irritation resulting from contact with the boxes.

Consumers should stop using the boxes right away and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Alternatively, they may contact Schurman to receive instructions on how to return them.

Consumers with questions can contact Schurman Retail Group at (855) 730-7998.
