Glass Fragments Found in Sweet Leaf Tea Due to Manufacturing Error
The Sweet Leaf Tea Company has announced that it is recalling certain bottles of tea due to the possible presence of glass fragments. The adulteration is the result of an accident during the filling process. Consumers could potentially be cut or injured if ingested.
The recall applies to Sweet Leaf Tea distributed between February 27, 2015 and December 6, 2015. Only 16 ounce glass bottles are affected. Affected flavors include Raspberry, Half and Half Lemonade, Original, Green Tea with Citrus, Peach, and Mint & Honey. For a list of the recalled products, manufacture codes, best-by dates, and UPCs, see the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) release.
All recalled products are being removed from store shelves.
The firm has received four complaints from consumers. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers who have any of the glass products with the affected date codes should not drink the product.
