Celestial Seasonings has announced a recall for tea due to a misleading label.

The tea company is voluntarily recalling its Roastaroma Herbal Tea. The product packaging indicates that it is gluten-free, but the tea actually contains barley.

The product is sold in 20-count cases. A best-before date of 12/02/2017 and a retail UPC of 070734-050138 are visible on the packaging.

About 4,200 cases are included in the recall.

Celestial Seasonings distributed the affected items to retail locations in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers this action to be a Class II recall, meaning that exposure to this product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. The risk of serious health issues is small.
