General Motors (GM) has issued a recall affecting certain model year 2018 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Terrain, GMC Acadia, and GMC Canyon vehicles.

What's the problem?

The high pressure fuel pump on these vehicles may detach from its mounting flange, possibly resulting in the pump damaging the high pressure fuel line.

A damaged fuel line can create a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

What happens next?

Owners of the recalled vehicles will be notified by GM in the coming weeks. Local dealers will then replace the high pressure fuel pump and the high pressure fuel pipe, free of charge.
