Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is recalling more than 16,000 Dunlop SP50 tires, size P205/70R15 95T. The tire tread of the affected tires may chunk off if driven on with low tire pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."

If the tire tread chunks off during low tire inflation, tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall is expected to begin September 15, 2016.

Goodyear will notify owners, and dealers will replace tires, free of charge.
