A small number of mountain bikes are being recalled for a defective wheel hub.

The front wheel hub on the GT downhill mountain bikes can break and cause the disc brake system to fail, posing crash and injury hazards. The company received two reports or broken hubs, but no injuries.

This recall involves all 2015 model year GT Fury Elite and GT Fury Expert downhill mountain bicycles. The model names are printed in small letters on the top tube of the bicycles near the word Fury.

They were sold at Authorized GT dealers from November 2014 to March 2015 for between $3200 and $4400.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and return them to the nearest authorized GT dealer to have the complete front wheel replaced free of charge.
