A defective helmet can ruin a good motorcycle ride, so H&H is working to fix that.

H&H Sports Protection is recalling certain VCAN V528 Milano helmets due to safety concerns after the discovery that the helmet retention systems failed during high temperature testing. Additionally, the required labeling may not be found on the helmets, meaning the product is not in compliance with Federal Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets".

These two problems can increase the risk of serious personal injury to the occupant.

The recall from the Italian manufacturer is for over 6,000 helmets, and includes sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL. Initially, the firm only issued the recall for XLs, but expanded the recall to include all sizes on July 15, 2015.

The company has notified owners, retailers, and dealers, and will reimburse the full purchase price for the helmets. Customers can contact the company at (858) 680-8226 or at OP@HHsportsprotection.com.
