High Level of Sulfites Leads to Daylily Recall from A&S Food Trading

A Brooklyn, NY company has announced a recall for a mislabeled product.

A&S Food Trading is recalling its Gorgeous Memory brand Daylily. The item contains undeclared sulfites. Consumers who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The product is sold in a 10.6 ounce plastic package bearing UPC 6 932960 968806 and package code 16C01540.

The items were distributed in New York City area, and has reached consumers through retail stores.

Analysis of the product revealed that it contains 13.39 milligrams of sulfites per serving. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions, such as anaphylactic shock, in some asthmatics.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are urged to return them to the place of purchase for full refund.
