Hobby Lobby Recalls Rattle, Pacifier Holder Due to Choking Risk
The recall includes about 14,400 rattles and 12,900 pacifier holders
A choking hazard has prompted a pair of recalls for infant items from Hobby Lobby.
The first recall applies to Little Wishes Chenille Stuffed Rattles. The rattle seams can separate, exposing the fiber stuffing and bell rattle, posing a choking risk to young children.
About 14,400 rattles are included in the recall.
The company is including the Pink & Green Fish rattle, item number 5141577, and the Blue & Yellow Fish rattle, item number 5127642. They are both 8.5 inches by seven inches in size and have a hole cut out in the middle. The item number is printed on the top left corner of the product hang tag. The rattles have a sewn-in label with Reg. No. PA-15130(CN) and Hobby Lobby 9123069 printed on the front of the label.
Next, Hobby Lobby is recalling its Little Wishes Summer Plush Pacifier Holder. The fin of the whale and the head of the octopus can detach from the pacifier holder, posing a choking hazard. About 12,900 pacifier holders are subject to recall.
The recall applies to the Blue Whale (item number 5202601) and Pink Octopus ( 5725213) models. The pacifier holders are made of a plush fabric, stuffed with fiber, measure approximately 4.5 inches by two inches and have a ten inch ribbon attached to the body. The item number is printed on the top left corner of the product hang tag. Hobby Lobby 9123069 is printed on the front and back of the sewn-in label.
To date, the company has received one report of the whale fin detaching from the pacifier holder. No injuries have been reported in connection with either recall.
Consumers could purchase these items at Hobby Lobby stores nationwide from January 2016 through April 2016. The rattles sold for about $7 each, while the pacifier holder cost about $5.
Customers should immediately stop using the recalled items and return them to the nearest Hobby Lobby store for a full refund or store credit.
