An automotive performance company is recalling a product due to a fuel system defect.

Holley Performance Products, Inc. is recalling certain NOS-brand nitrous oxide systems due to solenoid valves that may fracture when the fuel system is pressurized. The affected systems were manufactured between May 1, 2015 and August 17, 2015.

If the valve fractures, portions of the valve may become projectiles, increasing the risk of injury to those nearby or possibly damaging other nearby components.

Holley is recalling a little more than 1,000 systems nationwide. According to the manufacturer, there are no warning signs to indicate that an incident could occur.

This is the second recall of nitrous oxide solenoid valves announced today, after a similar move from Peter Paul Electronics.

Holley will notify owners and will repair or replace the solenoid valves, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in September 2015.

Owners can contact Holley Performance Products customer service at (800) 638-0032.
