Honda Fit Recalled for Problem that Could Affect Side Airbag Deployment

A problem with the A-pillar interior cover is at the root of a recent Honda recall.

Certain model year 2015 Honda Fits could have been assembled with an A-pillar interior covered that is designed for vehicles without side curtain airbags. Since these particular models do, the A-pillar interior covers could adversely the performance of the side airbags in the event of a crash.

About 6,300 vehicles are affected by the recall.

Honda will notify owners of the problem. Dealers will inspect the A-pillar interior cover and install the correct A-pillar cover, as necessary, free of charge. For more information owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009. Honda's number for this recall is JF9.
