Honda Recalls Certain 2016 Pilot Models Due to Seatbelt Error
Buckling up may be a hassle if you have a new Honda Pilot.
Honda is issuing a recall for certain model year 2016 Honda Pilot vehicles, due to an assembly issue that can trap the third row seatbelt between the rear seat and rear recliner.
The Japanese auto giant claims that a manufacturing error is to blame, with certain vehicles featuring misrouted seatbelts, which will not provide proper restraint in a collision, increasing the risk of injury.
Honda believes that 1,358 of its vehicles are potentially affected. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the third row seatbelt, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on Aug. 6, 2015.
