Hyundai Motor America is recalling more than 41,000 model year 2007-2008 Entourage vehicles.

In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may corrode and bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

The Hyundai Entourage vehicles included in this recall were manufactured between February 16, 2006 and June 30, 2008.

Hyundai will notify all owners of the recalled vehicles. For vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia, dealers will replace the secondary latch.

For vehicles in any other state, dealers will inspect and either lubricate or replace the secondary latch, as necessary, free of charge.
